Congratulations on your excellent bus service Luxliner

During August we travelled to Durban from East Rand Mall in the lap of luxury. Our return trip was even more enjoyable on 20-8-99.

We are eager to persuade other folk on the East Rand of your special service.

Dear Mr Strydom

I would just like to express my gratitude to your Gerhardt Moolman. We were stranded at Durban Station as we had just missed the Intercape which we had booked. They were most uncooperative, and we would have had to wait until 22:30pm for the next bus.

Mr Moolman helped us tremendously and we were most impressed with your coach which is beautifully kept. We travel Nelspruit/Jhb, and Jhb/Dbn quite often as our family live there. We have always travelled Greyhound/Translux/Intercape, but in future will only travel Luxliner.

Thank you once again for a super journey home.

Luxliner Intercity Coaches

ATTENTION: THE DIRECTORS

Dear Sirs,

Having been one of the passengers travelling to Benoni on 23 September '99 from Pinetown, and having experienced the many stoppages on route due to the numerous fan belt breakages, I feel compelled to write this letter of commendation.

1. I must admit that I felt most apprehensive before boarding your coach due to the many serious accidents which prevailed during the period before my departure, but I however decided to travel and to take the chance. The name of the coach driver from Durban to Bergview was Louie, and he kept the passengers informed, but at the same time relaxed by his calm manner and approach to the problem.

2. Our driver from Bergview to Benoni where I finally alighted was Pieter. He too was absolutely marvellous in his treatment of his, by now tired and irritated, passengers. I for one was in a great deal of pain due to the length of time spent sitting in one place when I suffer from acute arthritis of both hips and lower spine, and could barely stand to queue up to get off the bus. I swore that I would not return to Pinetown on your coach to have to face perhaps another day of pain and trauma. I am not a young person and I was traumatised knowing that my family who were to meet me at the Lakeside Mall would be worried sick about my whereabouts, not to mention my husband waiting at home for my phone call to let him know that all was well and that I had arrived safely.

3. My daughter argued with me to return on your coach as planned when se did the booking - my husband said to pay the difference between flying and the coach fare as by this time two more serious bus accidents had occurred. My daughter eventually won the debate, so yesterday I boarded your coach for the return trip home, and was delighted to recognise Pieter, who in turn also recognised me. He was too wonderful in allaying my fears and showed personal interest in my comfort and well being throughout the journey to Bergview. I cannot praise him enough for his genuine concern over me and for his competent driving.

4. Louie once again relieved Pieter and drove the coach back to Durban. We experienced a thunder storm and heavy rain outside Estcourt which lasted to Hilton. Visibility was not too good at times, but I felt completely relaxed because of Louie's safe driving ability and calm manner, and in spite of the road being very busy.

The whole purpose of this letter is to inform you that when I wish to visit my family in Gauteng once again, I shall travel by Luxliner and shall recommend your service to my family (which I have already done this morning) and friends - and all because of these two very fine drivers in your employ. They are a great credit and asset to your company and deserve recognition. Well done Luxliner, and may you continue to grow in the future - keep up the good work.

Dear Sir,

Having enjoyed two very pleasant trips in your excellent Liner, we wish to send you a special note of congratulations. Our only disappointment was that so few people on the East Rand seem to be aware of your special bus service with every comfort, and at reduced rates for Pensioners and students.

You might like to use our enclosed note of appreciation for promotion purposes.
We distributed a set of pamphlets to friends; and suggest that you send us more so that we can distribute them among pupils and parents of our large St. Dominic's School.

Please give our regards to Mr Boet Fraser who is such a friendly and thoughtful driver. We have written thanking him for our very pleasant trips this month. We also greet Ms Potgieter.

Again we thank you for your excellent service, and sincerely hope it will flourish.

I would like to commend the driver and Courier, Pieter Kok & Henry Bayliss of one of the Lux-Liner coaches who very kindly picked up the passengers of a Greyhound coach which had broken down We (were) all treated with such courtesy and help with such courtesy and help with our luggage on Monday 25th Oct and taken to Johannesburg.

On the 7th of this month I travelled on one of your "Luxury Travel Buses" which I found very comfortable and secure with the drivers on the bus which stopped at Durban station. When I came back to Edenvale on the 21st of this month with the "Luxury Travel Bus" the service was the same as going to Durban and Mr. Pieter Kok was very good to me with helping me with my luggage when the bus stopped at Mcdonalds in Edenvale Mr. Kok put my luggage in one of my friends car for me and Mr. Kok is a gentleman.

Mrs Hells and I boarded your bus on 17/12/99 in Durban at 8.30 am en route to your terminal at Edenvale. Your driver from Durban to Harrismith was most conscientious, and courteous, a pleasure to be with. From Harrismith to Edenvale your driver was outstanding, reassuring passengers during a violent hail storm, showing all the essentials of a most competent driver. At Edenvale my daughter was unfortunately delayed from meeting us for nearly an hour. Your driver Mr. Pieter Kok refused to leave us alone until my daughter arrived. Thank you

Dear Whoever,

I would like to let you know how much I enjoyed my trip to Durban in your comfortable coach, also the return journey. I found your personnel very polite and helpful & took advantage of your door to door service when I returned.

Your drivers are both very careful and considerate people. The gentleman who drove when we left Edenvale (on 21st Dec) was very warm & out-going, the person who took over is not such a peoples - person and I thought he should have introduced himself to us. Perhaps it was his "off" day. I shall certainly advertise your service & hope to go with you again later this year.

Luxliner goes the extra mile.

There's proof enough that the consumer is not always right. But even then, some companies will bend over backwards to help. That' just what the staff at Luxliner did when Hazel van der Riet missed her bus to Margate in the early hours of May 19 this year.

In desperation Heather Patterson, who dates Van der Riet's son, telephoned the Luxliner offices, not really expecting anyone to be at the office at that time of the morning.

She was put through to a particularly helpful and efficient person who immediately took control and made alternative arrangements for Van der Riet. Wrote Patterson: "She told us where the next bus could be caught. She said the bus only went as far as Durban but the driver lived in Margate and could take my boyfriend's mother from Durban to Margate.

"My boyfriend was with his mom when the bus arrived at Lakeside Mall and was again most impressed by the driver, the lady who had originally helped us and the fact that we did not have to buy another ticket."

Once Van der Riet was on the bus, the driver contacted her friends to inform them of the delay and later dropped her off at their home - Staff Reporter.

Dear Sir,

I would like to say how impressed we were with your staff and services as a result of my boy friend's mother missing her bus.

Mrs. Hazel van der Riet was supposed to catch the JHB/Margate bus on the 19 May, from the pick up place in Midrand. Somehow, she managed to miss the bus. I then phoned your office number, never expecting to get a reply as it was still early in the morning and was put through to a lady who was incredibly helpful.

I don't know the name of the lady, but she was on the bus that Mrs. van der Riet caught later from the Lakeside Mall (she did have a name tag on but in all the confusion we forgot her name!) and I think she was Indian.

She told us where the next bus could be caught and as the driver of the bus lived in Margate, he could take her from Durban to Margate as this second bus was only going as far as Durban.

My boyfriend was with his mom when the bus came to the Lakeside Mall and was again most impressed by the driver, the lady who had originally helped us and the fact that we did not have to buy another ticket.

The driver kept in touch with the people where Mrs. van der Riet was going to (in St.Michael's on Sea) and delivered her to their house.

Please can you commend your staff for such helpful, friendly service as well as just making it all so simple. It was a pleasure dealing with your company and I will recommend your service to anyone who has need of a bus trip.

Dear Mr. White,

Firstly may I congratulate you on your coach service the name being very applicable.

I am a regular traveller between Johannesburg and Durban I go there at least three times a year. In the past I had travelled on two different bus services on this route. I stopped when they changed their 'Drivers' and since then being travelling by plane.

May I say that your coaches are as comfortable if not better than a plane this I know from experience as recently my Son paid for me to fly to the U.K.

Your Drivers are friendly, helpful, courteous making you feel very relaxed and comfortable. I travelled with my Daughter and Friend this last weekend up to J.H. Burg for the first time on Luxliner. We were very impressed your price was excellent, your coach comfortable and staff impeccable. I am going to J.H. Burg again at Xmas to my family and will definitely be using Luxliner.

You can be sure that we will definately pass the word around that the best way to fly to J.H. Burg is by Luxliner Coach. Two of our friends have already decided to go by Coach in future.
