September is Heritage Month, a time when South Africa’s languages, traditions, and everyday rituals take centre stage. For us at Intercity Xpress, heritage is not only found in museums or monuments, it is alive on our routes each day. From dawn departures in Gauteng to night rides along the coast, we carry family reunions, career opportunities, and cultural celebrations from one province to the next.
Routes that carry stories
Buses are more than vehicles, they’re moving meeting points. In one coach you’ll hear isiZulu, Sesotho, Setswana, Afrikaans and English share the same space. Our job is to make that shared space safe, comfortable, and on time, so the stories on board can keep travelling.
The faces of service
Heritage also lives in the people who serve. Keamogetswe, Mpho, and Minenhle recently arrived at work in their traditional wear, bringing pride and colour to the frontline. Their warmth at the counter and care at boarding remind us that service, done with respect, becomes its own tradition.
Community in motion: Ride4Hope and school shoes
Heritage is about what we inherit and what we pass on. This season we supported the Legacy Ride4Hope initiative and joined school-shoe hand-overs along the route. A new pair of shoes means safer, warmer walks to class and a sense of belonging for a learner. Small steps add up when a nation walks together.
Travel with purpose
Wherever you are headed this month home, campus, or a cultural festival, travel safely with Intercity Xpress and celebrate the richness of our nation with every trip
